** spoiler alert ** This one took me a while to get into, but was thoroughly enjoying it by about chapter 8 (once Miach was fully on the scene). Cheesy in the best way possible, and a little reminiscent of Graceling at times.

I was just a bit bummed by the ending. Out of no where this evil Mage turns up and poisons the heroine then disappears. Just seemed really random, but maybe I was missing the foreshadowing for that!? I knew some bad guy was after her but if it was that easy why didn't he get to her earlier rather than sending all those monsters? And, after going to all that effort to get to her, why couldn't he make poison strong enough to kill her? Bummer on his part. :) Not that I want her to die of course, it just seemed like an inconsistent plot device that ruined the ending a little.

Not overly much though because I'm currently ordering the next one and find out what happens...

Andrea Haha, funny review. And I agree, this series has some issues. But keep reading them so that I can hear the funny things you have to say about them as well.

di Hehe--you can never really take this type of book too seriously can you, but that's what makes them so fun! Actually can't wait to read more!
