really liked it
bookshelves: 2010

As fast as my mommy instincts made me desire to reach between the pages and save sisters Caroline and Emma from the harrowing abuse of their stepfather and sadly neglectful mother, I just as quickly raced to the close of this novel to hope for a merciful ending for these two young, tough souls.

The shocking twist of a conclusion sheds light into the deep effects of childhood trauma. This is a great, suspenseful read.
