it was amazing
bookshelves: awesomeness

TCL shows no holdings but I checked it out from here (?)

Who would think? I mean, it's a book about zombies. But, oh, what a book.
I am not a horror genre person and even the spoof movie Saturday the 14th scared the bejeezus out of me so don't shy away from this selection.
Hasn't the logical part of your brain ever carried on an internal conversation about how zombies make no sense? I mean they're slow and they make a ridiculous amount of noise so you know they are coming and can get out of the way - right?
Well Brooks takes that traditional idea of the slow noisy zombie and make a throughly believable case study of how they could take over the world in our time (if they existed).
THIS IS A MUST READ. Take out zombies and put in swine flu and it could happen. He thinks of all the causes and effects and covers everything from political causes, environmental destruction, family dynamics, etc.
