Book one in the Amanda Project series.

Amanda Valentino is the new girl in school. She tells Callie that she moves around a lot. In order to quickly feel like a part of any new school, Amanda chooses one student to be her guide. Callie feels honored and special to be chosen as a friend by the charismatic Amanda.

When she is called to the office because of one of Amanda's pranks, she is faced with two other students, Nia and Hal, who also thought they were Amanda's only guides. The three, who have nothing in common except for their friendships with Amanda, are thrown together in the search for the now missing Amanda.

This is an intriguing start to a new series. While I didn't love the book in and of itself, there is enough of a mystery to make me want to read the next book. The website is wonderful and gives readers a chance to interact with the story as it unfolds and to make connections with the text.
