Recommended for: Those who like short stories...

RIDING THE STORM OUT by Emma Jay is a ménage à trois quickie. Be prepared for some mixed emotions while the characters mix it up. At 76 pages (per Amazon), it is of novella length.

Jill has been dating the handsome big guy, Ethan, and wants a forever future with him. The two steam it up in the supply closet every chance they get. Jill thinks she’s done with her wild, x-boy-toy, Zach. Following an entire “dry” year, after a clean break from Zach, she’s ready to take the big step with new love, Ethan. All three, working at the same advertising agency makes life a little tricky.

Jill and Ethan can’t wait to consummate their relationship, both ready to start their happily ever after. Their boss throws a monkey wrench into the plan by sending Jill’s x, Zach, with them to a seminar. Stuck in a seedy hotel while a big storm rages, the three find ideas for entertainment are limited. Or are they?

Ethan detests Zach, but wants to fulfill Jill’s every fantasy. Against his better judgment, Ethan entertains the idea of a threesome. Zach enjoys Jill, but disappears to fetch some food and water. At least Ethan will have some alone time with Jill. In the end, Ethan has to decide whether he can set aside Jill’s wild past and move forward with the woman he loves.

Emma Jay does a nice job of building the characters within the confines of the length of the story. The sex is fairly well done. It’s easy to understand that Ethan in is love with Jill, but you may find yourself questioning their devotion to each other. If you are into short steamy stories, Riding the Storm Out is just up your alley.
