really liked it

Set in post World War 1 Berlin as Germany is in the slow process of recovering and Hitler's gang is coming into power, this tale of skullduggery and deceit is another tale of Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov or the person who claims to be he and those who are scheming to pass her off as the heir of the Romanov fortune. The head schemer is a Russian "Prince" owner of several after hours cabarets and supplier of documents, his secretary, a Russian Jewess (Esther Solomonova) who he gets to help prepare Anna Alexander for her role. Also involved is a Berlin Police officer who Esther gets to help when Anna is threatened by an unknown killer. Good story with a twist and good setting of time and place make this an interesting tale.

John Bob,

I have read other books by Ariana Franklin. I will need to add this one to my TBR pile (more like, mountain).

Bob A bit different than the tales set in early England.
