it was ok
bookshelves: speculative-fiction

Silverberg is always proficient. But I finished this book on a sour note. Maybe it trades too much on being daring for 1972. Or maybe the 'ick' factor was too strong. The plot device is that four young men band together to find a group a mysterious cult with the power to make two of them immortal at the cost of the other two dying. None of the characters deserved eternal life, IMHO.
