** spoiler alert ** *Read for book club*

A fun book that turns sleeping into something of a superpower. This would make a great bedtime read aloud.

For me the novel's places were far more interesting than the characters. As someone said during our book club discussion, sometimes it felt like weird names or physical traits were supposed to take the place of character development. The authors did a fantastic job though with the journey from Krasnik to Dormia, and all the sights in between. Lar's artic iceberg motel was a real treat as were the descriptions of the Founding Tree and the frightening forest.

There were a couple of scary moments (the forest, Bilblox's near-death) that might be tough for really young readers but overall I think the intended middle school audience will really enjoy Alfonso's adventure.
