I enjoyed listening to this low fantasy story about personified toys. Annabelle Doll and her family of china dolls have lived a happy, yet somewhat boring, life for over one hundred years in their doll house. Annabelle, the most curious of the all wants to find out what happened to her Aunt Sarah, who vanished almost fifty years ago, and is determined to find her even if it means leaving their home and risking the chance of being seen out of place by the humans who own them. Adding to the excitement is a new modern doll family made completely of plastic that moves into the next room. Narrator Lynn Redgrave brings the Dolls Family to life giving each a different voice. A good choice for independent reading time. Grades 2-5
