A Hero of Our Time
I was surprised to like this book so much. I usually don't go for the "despicable hero" and only kept on reading because the narrator and style of narration for the first third of the book was interesting. Lermontov's style of writing, though, was somewhat simple and straightfoward, though what his writing focused on was interesting. In the end, I'm glad I did keep going and finish it, as Pechorin really was a rather interesting figure, particularly when he narrated his own life. Not a book for everyone, but I personally enjoyed it and look forward to reading through it again.
