it was ok

I was really looking forward to this book, probably because I enjoy Regency romance and this collected dust on my to-read list. I don't like a book to be a complete copy of Jane Austen or uses her characters. I don't want to read Mr Darcy's view so this was great in that respect.

This was too long for what it was, there were pages of pointlessness that could have been edited out, the book didn't really get moving until over halfway through.

I didn't mind the ending, except for one rejected suitor being made into a villain, and the early Mills&Boon style ending where you see the hero stop being ornery on the final page and profess his undying love. It could have been tied up better. So could my review.

Please don't be put off by my rating, if you are considering this book, go for it! It offers a unique premise, an intelligent narrator and an interesting set of characters.

Edit: WOAH! Jude Morgan is a guy?
