really liked it
bookshelves: fiction

I quite enjoyed this. Van Helsing started to get annoying towards the end of the book, but overall this was a good read with decent characters. It was more explicit than I expected (a good thing), but the ending wasn't as thrilling/suspensful as I think it was meant to be (at least for me). I feel like a "race against time" scenario is harder to do in print than it is on screen.

In any case, I would definitely recommend this, even if you're not usually a 'classic literature' person. And this edition in particular was great - there were short footnotes here and there. Just enough to add a little bit of extra interest and information, but not overwhelming.
