I have been a big Frederick Forsyth fan since I was a teenager and read "The Odessa File." I recall reading one of his books several years ago and he announced it was his last and I wrote him off. My wife recently referred me to "The Afghan," a 2006 book written after his "last" book. I enjoyed it. A test for me for a good book is when I wake up at night (hey I am an old man-listen to the prostate ads) if I wonder what is going to happen in the book. And I did. However, I felt it was his weakest book. It ended too soon.
