really liked it
bookshelves: 2009, own

** spoiler alert ** I found the narrator Cal really engaging and really appreciated the unflinching nature of the stories about the family. When I think back about the details, they could be pretty depressing, but the story was not, and I didn't spend time pitying anyone. I know the story is already quite long, but I would've liked to know more about how Cal felt about the question of what to do when he found out. I got frustrated in the middle when it was taking a long time to read, but I enjoyed the characters and the story.

Zeke I'll be interested to hear what you think about this book. I remember really enjoying it..but now I'm reading a nonfiction book a/b a similar subject that is making me re-think my original reading of Middlesex.

Andrea I was really enjoying the narrator in the story, but I started getting frustrated with how long it was taking me to get through it and started another book. I'll go back and finish it soon, but I'm not actively in it right now. So far, I really like it, though, it just seemed really slow after all of the heroic fantasy I had been reading.
