"Own the Wind" is the first book in the "Chaos" series by Kristen Ashley, the spin-off of the "Dream Man" series which focuses on the Chaos Motorcycle Club led by "Motorcycle Man" lead character Kane "Tack" Allen. Book one focuses on Chaos "princess" Tabitha "Tab/Tabby" Allen and Chaos brother Parker "Shy" Cage.

We first glimpse the crush Tabby has on Shy in the epilogue of "Motorcycle Man" and "Own the Wind" begins three years later, when a 19-year-old Tabby is picked up by a 25-year-old Shy in a house filled with Tabby's less savory former high school friends. To knock some sense into her, Shy decides to give her a dose of harsh reality, hurting Tabby in the process. Several chapters fast forward over a year or several months, showing the deterioration of and later reconciliation in the Shy-Tabby friendship.

This was a wonderfully written book and carries over the same humor, action, and heart-tugging drama that Kristen Ashley is known for. It was great seeing Tabby grow up and mature in this book, as a woman and as a daughter. She holds her own with Shy even as she acknowledges and respects Chaos and what it stands for.

The book includes characters KA fans are familiar with (Tack, Tyra, Rush, Lee Nightingale, Hawk, Mitch, and Brock) and are introduced and re-introduced to others. While "Own the Wind" doesn't have a villain looming over Tabby or Shy for most of the story (I'm not counting Dr. Dickhead in that equation), the focus is really on Tabby and Shy finding their footing in their burgeoning relationship and how they deal with the consequences of a brother falling in love with the president's only daughter.

"Own the Wind" gets five out of five stars! ♥
