really liked it

This is the third book in the Hollow Kingdom trilogy, and it takes place several years after the second book. A human girl has been raised to become the wife of the next King of the Goblins, but when it comes time for that to happen, a small band of elves who are not living a savage life is discovered, and their leader attempts to trade for the old elvish records which the goblins captured at the end of the last elf-goblin war.

The trade involves an elf bride for the King of the Goblins, so the human girl finds herself among the elves instead of where she expected to be. As the story progresses, it illuminates how prejudices in both directions between elves and goblins can cause serious misunderstandings and have the potential for even more serious conflict.

Both the human girl and her elvish replacement have a lot to learn about their new homes and people, as do the people they have come to live with. Only the wisdom of an elf-goblin hybrid is able to bring understanding and a happy ending, for now, to both sides.

A lesson for all, served up in a fun and interesting way.
