Must-read for people interested in World War II and its unknown or little known episodes. Aleutian Islands are the end of Alaska, part nearest to Arctic. As it's close to Japan during WWII American soldiers were building there in frozen ground airports or surfaces that could be used as landing space for planes, which would later go for an attack on Japan. They were fighting with themselves, the weather, time and lack of enough number of people and stuff to build the stuff needed.
