it was amazing

Madeleine - 5 stars
This was a phenomenal book. I’m not sure how the author managed to write about torture without sending me screaming from the room. It’s there – it’s TOTALLY there- but so is an amazing story so well written it seems non-fiction. I’m not even sure what to write in the review as I’ve erased more lines than I’ve kept. Everything I write makes it sound gruesome but it’s anything but. It’s washed with the love and hilarity that true female best friends feel for each other. It keeps you up, gotta read just one more chapter! It makes you question what’s the truth, if people are who they seem to be, what sacrifice is. If I read that in a review I’d so be skipping the book but this is such a must read. Grrrrrr!
Read it for the author’s amazing storytelling skills. Read it for the female war heroes. Read it for the totally topical points of torture and the value of the information collected through such means. Just read it.
