it was amazing

I just finished reading this book for about the third time. I initially read this book in 2011, shortly after it was released, but I pick it up at least once a year and read it again. The characters are complicated, sometimes a real mess, but very real and easy to relate to. How many of us have made decisions that head us in a direction that's not good for us, but we keep heading in that direction anyhow because it seems too hard or impossible to clean up the messes we've made? Author Lori Beard-Daily does a great job of crafting characters that have done just that. While these three friends made a promise to each other when they graduated from Spellman, these women keep getting farther and farther away from that promise and from each other. Yet, the clever author gives them a chance for redemption. But do they take it? The story keeps me engaged every time I read it.
