it was amazing

Several things happened that pushed me to finally read this book. First, the movie is coming out soon - November 1st. Second, my daughter had to read this for Honors English and she loved it. Third, a trusted blogger friend told me it was one of her favorite books ever and to WAIT NO MORE. I might add that I am NOT a Sci-Fi fan at all. But I surprised myself. The idea of a child prodigy...a strategic genius...who could possibly save the word from an Intergalactic war was fascinating to me. (I think it would have even been more appealing if I had actually read this as a child.) It was, however, a huge stretch of my imagination to believe children spanning the ages of 6 and 12 would act this mature and intelligent. Hell, the youngest Nobel Prize winner is 25! But I forced myself to set this aside and go along with the adventure. And honestly, I would have rated this book a 4 stars until I read that last chapter. This ending was the perfect example of an author pulling everything together and giving the plot a defining purpose. It was a WOW.

Melissa I'm so glad you liked it! I did first read it when I was younger (high school I think), but I loved it when I reread it too.
