I found this story difficult to get into at first. I had not flipped to the back and seen the list of months and defined terms that would have been helpful at the start of the story. However, even though the story was a slow start, I am glad that I stuck with it. Once I understood the terminology, the story was quite an easy read. Even easy though, it is still quite engaging. Sarvet's Wanderyar is a bildungsroman that depicts a girls transformation from an innocent and fearful child to a wide-eyed and open woman. Although the story is short, it is still touching.

However, I do think some of the details could have been fleshed out more. I never quite felt that I had a clear picture of anyone or any place throughout the story. Even so though, the story made for a decent, albeit brief, read.
