What can I say? With a title like Pirates and Prejudice I couldn't possibly be expecting a faithful adaptation or even something close, but in all fairness, it was as close to the characters and the story line as it could be whilst stretching them both to accommodate the plot.

I enjoyed it, it was a fun story that kept me smiling and once you've swallowed the initial deviation into the realm of pirates it all flows very nicely.

It is in fact another book that I think could have stood on its own, without the need to make the characters the ones we know so well. A pleasant regency romance, possibly more like a Georgette Heyer (whose books I love) than Jane Austen.
