The Women of Brewster Place written by Gloria Naylor was a very interesting novel. In the novel Naylor shares the lives and stories of seven diffferent women from brewster with his/her readers. She shows his readers how these women struggle in life or while living in brewster also how they overcame their hardships. I liked how each one of the women found a solution to their problems and how they were able to get through them. She showed us how courageous each one of these individuals were, they were all independent and hard working. I think courage plays a big role throughout the whole novel because all seven women of brewster faced everything on their own, they were the head of their families and the provider of their family. i think the reason why Naylor decided to use single women in the story is because she wanted to make them stand out more because they didn't have a man in their life to support them. An overall theme for this novel is one will always face hardships troughout his/her life but it's the different approach and positive mindset that will help one out of them, because all these women faced different problems but they all had a positive attitude towards their troubles, they strived into making the best of their lives in order to be successful and make it through. even though not all of those women were able to make it out of their harships.
