A YA book about a gay football player in high school. This read like an after school special: small town upper middle class family, heroic protaganist, and challenging personal issues. Altogether the story about the high school quarterback, Bobby, coming out was touching. There were a lot of valuable lessons about how to be supportive in the coming-out process (through a variety of positive reactions from various people in Bobby's life) and a pinch about the adversity. This put a relevant twist on the classic American high school hero.
