This book was thoroughly unexpected! To say the least it was a dark, twisted story with a completely unforgettable heroine. Maggie Quinn is insightful, smart and totally flawed but one of the few characters in any books that I have read recently, that will haunt me long after turning the last page. The author takes you on a psychological journey that is disturbing & frightening, as you walk along with Maggie, feeling what she feels, knowing what she knows and realizing that this is a path you don't want to go down even as a casual observer, because there, but for the grace of god, go any one of us.
As detective novels go, it is on point with all the drama and frustration that comes from a legal system that is not always just and a villain that uses that fact to his advantage and then some. I would definitely read more from this author as I feel that I invested a lot of emotional currency in Maggie Quinn and need to know where she ends up.
I received this eBook free in exchange for an honest review.
