Holy crap. Dan Chaon (of "You Remind Me of Me") has a new book and it is good. I'm not even going to tell you anything about it, because it would spoil the pleasure of this twisting, turning, mind-bending, mood-shaping, funk-inducing book. The only thing I will share is the epigraph for Part Two, which comes from Nabokov (that master of masters):

"Whatever his secret was, I have learnt one secret too, and namely: that the soul is but a manner of being--not a constant state--that any soul may be yours, if you find and follow its undulations. The hereafter may be the full ability of consciously living in any chosen soul, in any number of souls, all of them unconscious of their interchangeable burdens."

Terrifying, no?
