really liked it

3.5 stars

I didn't love this quite as much as I hoped to. I liked it as much as the second book, but the first is still my favorite. Maybe it would have been better if I hadn't read the series all at with books like The Series of Unfortunate Events, it can be a bit much to read them one after the other. It got hard for me to remember which parts happened in which books.

The Devil and his grandmothers are my favorite parts of this series. :) So funny! Later on, the breaking of the fourth wall was a bit strange, but overall it worked out okay in the story.

I like this series a lot, but I'm a bit disappointed that the second and third books don't quite live up to the first one!
