Ok I didn't read the title all the way through and was surprised that this is a history of American Cookbooks! Very interesting. Everything from the adaptations need for the Europeans who came and needed to consider completely new foodstuffs and less equipment than in their old kitchens, new vegetables, new fish etc. From the earliest beginnings of Amercan cookbooks up to Modern stylings and the effects of Julia Child, James Beard, Marion Cunningham, etc. I enjoyed this.
