I picked up this book thinking that Khaled Hosseini's third will be better or at least as good as his previous two novels. I must say that I am grossly disappointed. Expected a lot better, a hell lot better from Mr. Hosseini and am extremely disappointed in the entire book. The story seems to be too haphazardly written, and the author has no idea of how to make the characters properly resonate with each other. Irrelevant details are abundant throughout the story and I must say the author has simply written to fill up the book.

In short, while theme is still based on the Afghan diaspora like his previous two books, Hosseini has hardly managed to capture the flavor of life and story like he did in his previous two novels. It has been an extreme source of disappointment for me and hope the brilliant author will come out with something much better next time.
