Two years after reading The Hobbit, I finally read The Fellowship of the Ring. I really liked this book because of... well, everything! The description of Middle-Earth, the scenery, the different landscapes from the Shire, through Rivendell and Lórien. Every place has its own different characteristics and they can be magnificent, scary, peaceful and misterious. I loved dwelling in those places.

Second of all, the characters. Gandalf must be, by far, my favourite because of his intelligence, wisdom and patience and because he's a wizard. You gotta love good wizards. Then I really liked Sam Gamgee because of his loyalty to Frodo and because he is so good-hearted and honest. Boromir disapointed me a little, because he is always so distrustful and against things and because of that final part in the book. Oh Boromir... And then, there are the elfs. So powerful and noble and majestic, Rivendell and the elfs amazed me. My favourite elf must be Galadriel because though she may seem gentle and loving, she is more powerful than she looks. And she is beautiful.

Overall I really liked this book because of the adventures that all the characters face, the dynamic betweet each one of them, because of the world created by Tolkien that seems so real, because of the different creatures that they encounter, wether they are good or bad, like the Orcs or the Black Riders. The only thing that I wasn't fond of, was that sometimes the narrative is slow because of all the descriptions and interruptions to explain the story of Middle Earth. I understand them and I really liked to know more, but it sort of slowed down the narrative a bit.
