It has been many years since I last read this book, and the years haven't been kind.

The murder mystery itself was very skillfully handled but I'm unsure why more of the characters weren't killed off. They were just all horrible people and most of them deserved to die. I wasn't invested in any of them so wouldn't of missed a few more facing the final curtain.

In summary - a mean old man who made everyone miserable and resorted to blackmail is found dead in his bed. No one really suspects foul play yet everyone and I mean everyone, accuses each other of the deed.

Because his sister is as mean and tightfisted as he is, she is killed accidently the same way he was and thus eventually the case is solved.
