** spoiler alert ** Though a quick and easy read, this book touched on a lot of lifes topics...Friendship, loyalty, hardwork, determination, morality, love, and prejudice.

I loved the question the author posed when the African American man and his Caucasian lover (I forgot their names) were killed out of prejudice and the town was destined to a lifetime of no rain - Who did God punish?
