This should get 3 1/2 stars. Pelecanos is writing to formula in this story of youthful crime and adult redemption. It is also an exploration of father/son relations. Four incorrigible young men meet in a juvenile prison and grow up together when the return to their homes in the DC area. Chris Flynn returns home to work in his father's carpet business.
