Most of this book was a condensed history of Newton's life prior to his stint at England's treasury. I'm not sure this wasn't necessary, but the primary subject of the book is apparently Newton's treasury career, while about half the book is about his time at Cambridge. A quick, interesting read, but I found myself more interested in the development of England's economy and its response to the rapid devaluing of its money than in Newton's career as a glorified detective.
