It's amazing what you can find at thrift stores. This book has it all - sex, love, homosexuals, pornography, family drama, etc., etc... The writing is elementary (it reads like something from a vanity press) and packs a lot into a small space, which makes it more plot-driven than character-driven. I am given to understand that it is based on historical fact, at least the setting. It's mostly about one woman trying to make it in the world despite the world being a tough and unyielding place. If you like that kind of thing and aren't too picky, then hey, pick it up. I got mine in a thriftstore on the N. Cal coast.
