** spoiler alert ** This book is basically a long essay ruminating about gardening, and about man's relationship with nature. It is perhaps less interesting to those who aren't gardeners themselves. I might have given it more stars (I'm a fan of his writing) if it didn't hit my pet peeve of many gardening books--east coast gardeners who assume that the entire world is like their corner of it.
