it was amazing
bookshelves: best-books
Read from January 15 to February 15, 2013

Wiesel did not want to write this Holocaust memoir; he waited 15 some years before succumbing to the weight of his story, and knowing that he was obligated to tell it. The pain and anguish he felt in the writing of this are evident in every passage, while the language is simple and unadorned in order to allow the events to speak for themselves. His account will hang with you, his imagery will remain etched in your mind. A tremendously important work.
