This is an easy read with a well developed plot. The characters are interesting but appear to be subservient to the plot line. This may change in the rest of the trilogy, but I felt that at least in this first book the characters, with the possible exception of Caleb and Quinn, were somewhat superficially developed. The plot, though, is complex and the interweaving of the characters' family heritage and their interplay heightens the knot of the plot. As they search for the first string to pull to unravel the plot, they are unsure whether they are loosening the knot, or pulling it tighter. I will definitely read the next installment.
