An interesting storyline that blends in a vaguely familiar Russian overtone with fun fantasy storyline.
Again with the never-ending teen plague of the saga. Every book must end with a lead in to the next book. Is exhausting. Is very Dan Brown. Again.

There is something intriguing about the author's writing. i can't quite put a name on it. I can say I enjoyed the story, despite the predictability, and things I didn't enjoy (mostly the romance and non-graphic talk about sexual acts). The story has a feel that is all its own, even though it is not entirely original. Great world building, interesting characters, intriguing magic, a measure of romance. If you like these things in a book, this might be the next YA read for you.
