This has to be my favourite of the Sookie Stackhouse series so far. I absolutely loved Alcide, what an awesome character he is to add into the mix!

Usually I'm not a fan of having so many characters in one series that play such a large role in each book, even though it's from the perspective of the same person. The three main characters are there, but there's always people around them, others that Sookie is thinking about.

And while it's nice to see how different each group is, generally it can be a bit much; but for some reason it works with these books. I'm not sure if that's because each character actually does have a part to play, and they play it well - the background characters tend to remain just that; which is fine with me.

As of yet, there's not too many characters that it's confusing. Only time will tell if the rest of the series stays that way.
