2.5 stars. This was a slow read for me. There were some nuggets of gold in this story, but you really had to sift through to find them.

This May/December erotica was about a young photographer who makes a deal with a wealthy gallery owner- become his property until Christmas or her photos sell out at his gallery. Intrigued, Serena agrees, and as part of the arrangement, Gustav gives her a beautiful bracelet that he often attaches a silver chain to.

There is some intrigue here- Gustav's volatile relationship with his ex wife is revealed in layers, but the apparent worst incident was never revealed. All we know is that it involved his little brother, who ran away with the ex.

Despite Serena's tragic upbringing, I didn't connect with her or her meandering thoughts. It read at times like it was a historical instead of a contemporary (and I don't mean the UK slang references.) It was an unusual read, and perhaps someone's cup of tea, but unfortunately not mine.
