A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

When I first picked up A Game of Thrones, it was simply a break from serious works and an excuse for a taste of fantasy. Truthfully, I feared that I would be burdened with family names and petty imperial debates. I am glad to say that I was mistaken.
A Game of Thrones is a fascinating weave of several families, not confusing at all. These characters, mottos, and personalities find a special place in the heart and mind.
Through the adventures, secrets, alliances, and enemies, all the characters seem to meld together to create one amazing story. George R.R Martin not only wrote a book. He wrote the beginning of a series that, I expect, will not contain one page of boring material. He wrote a book that was not only satisfying, but detailed and surprising.
