Original, snarky, and thoroughly self-aware, this is great beach-reading material. Fan of the show might be disappointed, since I think the plot is similar to the first season (I am not a fan of the show). I never got into the show, but was reading this for my Mystery Book Club, and can understand more the draw to the character. He really is smart, and loves what he does--every little bit of it.

Yeah, the characters are kinda cardboard, the use of dream imagery a little bit of a cop-out, and the end a little unsatisfying, but it's pulp. That's what it's supposed to be.
