It felt like just yesterday I was reading Beautiful Disaster, yet it felt like it took forever for Beautiful Oblivion to get here...

Cami didn't have a perfect life growing up, in fact she had a pretty shitty one. Working her way through college as a Bartender at the Red Door where she runs into the Maddox boys on a regular basis... but she grew up in this town, knows the reputation of these brothers.

For Trenton Maddox, his family has always been everything. Losing his mother years ago, his father, brothers and he share a bond - a promise to always take care of each other. But there is one thing missing from Trent's life - the girl.

Trenton begins to pursue Cami under the guise of friendship, but with Cami's absent boyfriend it suddenly turns into more. Suddenly a few hours of interaction while bartending turns into daily visits and Cami starts to ignore the feelings that are growing with each one of those days.

Trenton Maddox wasn't suppose to be the guy you'd fall in love with, fall into bed with - sure, but her heart was suppose to belong to someone else - but that doesn't seem to be the case once she gets to know the real Trent.

Let's just begin with a dose of reality... this story mirrored Beautiful Disaster a little, but I loved BD and I think I fell in love with all these boys during the prologue of Walking Disaster so in order for me not to love this would be hard. Then there is the absent boyfriend... cheating is typically a hard limit and the twist in this particular triangle should have made me see red... but again, the fact that T.J. was so absent and not really developed as a character allowed him to stay out of sight out of mind.

Now on to Trent. Better than Travis, nope. But that is not something that can be accomplished, Travis was just... well... Travis. I loved that he wasn't an asshole (I know, this coming from the girl that loves the asshole), he was persistent and manipulative in the ways he got to spend time with her - and it was adorable. He was swoony and funny all while still holding that flirty streak the Maddox boys are famous for. As for Cami, I liked her and was ready to love her but that twist that I mentioned before, yeah - that kept me from really loving her in the end.

I did feel like the twist in the plot that comes into play at the end could have been bigger. It wasn't hard to figure out where this story was heading as I found myself focusing on a few things and running through some of the scenarios in my head and solving the mystery pretty early on. The revelation of it all did seem a little flat, but at the same time it really wasn't the focus of this story.

I think this story will end up in the love it or hate it pile for some. And I can see the points from both sides clearly. But for me, I loved getting a glimpse back into Travis's life through new eyes and I loved the dynamic of BD and was not displeased to see the same formula used with BO. I have a feeling that the future books might change from this format just simply because the other brothers lead a different kind of life than Travis & Trent. I was starting to go cold on this author, needing something to pull me back in and this did it successfully.
