We read this via audio book, and let me just get this out of the way: Brandon Frazier preformed admirably, even superlatively. It was a great listen. My five and six year old were spellbound.

The story unfolds at a good pace, and the characters felt genuine. Nettlebrand is a great villain, the sort you love to hate, yet almost understand. All sorts of themes weave in and out of the narrative: friendship, betrayal, environmental stewardship, heading the call of destiny. I look forward to reading this one again, as it has so much worth revisiting.
