bookshelves: memoir

This hilarious book by comedy writer and stand-up comic Jen Kirkman sheds light on what it's like to be "child-free by choice". Everyone from her family and friends to her pedicurist has an opinion about Kirkman's child-free status, and the opinions are not often subtle or favorable. Kirkman's unapologetic and unwavering stance on her decision not to procreate is refreshingly honest, and her common sense approach presents her decision as a natural and normal one. Those with children or without will benefit from Kirkman's perspective, as this decision is never one to be made lightly, regardless of which path you take. (Julie)
