While not really worthy of a five-star (to me, anyways) a four-star isn't quite right, either. I love this book for the language, the intricacy, and the thoughts. It's the kind of book that makes you evaluate your life, and even question what it means to be alive. If you're looking to be close to characters, and really gush about a book, then this is not the book for you. It's too gritty for that. But, strangely enough, it still begs you to read it. It's a bit addicting. While I didn't LOVE the characters, or even the story, I felt this NEED to finish it.

Fitzgerald deserves to be called brilliant. Now, I want to read more of him. The Great Gatsby is the type of book that makes you think deeply, and WANT to think deeply. It begs you to slow down and look at your own life. Definitely a worthwhile read.
