it was amazing
bookshelves: fantasy-and-scifi, fiction, bestbeloved
Read in October, 1998

This is numero uno on my list of best beloved books of all time and space; it has flaws, I am well-aware of its flaws, but I don't care because I love it. And I freely admit that I don't read it for the story, I re-read it because it's Carleton and there's so much of the basic college students plot that's familiar to me in detail (except the fairies, of course; we never had fairies). The pacing is poor and the ending is too quick, but that's completely a moot point to me. I love it because it reminds me of being in Northfield, and that's all I need it to do for me.

And also I have been trying to find my own Thomas Lane for nearly ten years now; where is he, people, where is he?
