Although this is a difficult book to read, due to the horrific crimes that the main character Alex and his gang are guilty of, it is an excellent moral tale. We see two sides of an evil coin--both unrestrained debauchery, in the beginning, and then the forced goodness when Alex undergoes his "treatment" in prison. And the excellent thing about this edition of the book is that it includes the critical last chapter (that was originally left out of the U.S. edition when it was first published), where Alex has an epiphany and decides that he wants to marry and have a family. It takes that last chapter to tie everything together.
