really liked it
bookshelves: spirituality
Read in June, 1979

I read this in high school and loved it. I think a lot of readers identify with the nonconformist protagonist.

Emily This was my first spiritual book. I read it in 6th grade at the recommendation of my teacher. I never thought about why I loved it, but, yeah, must've been (at least partly) due to the nonconformity angle. :)

Karen It's been soooo long since I've read this, but I remember the other birds making fun of him and I remember his pioneering spirit. Go, Jonathan!
